DENTON COUNTY WORKFORCE SUCCESS LEADERSHIP TEAM INITIATIVES

ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)

We all know people who are ALICE - Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE workers in Denton County educate our children, keep us healthy, and make our quality of life possible, yet do not earn enough to support their own families. ALICE households are forced to make tough choices such as deciding between quality child care or paying the rent, which have long-term consequences not only for their family, but for our community.

VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE

We provide free income tax preparation to ALICE families and individuals at our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. Families and individuals who qualify can visit one of multiple locations across Denton County where they will work with an IRS-certified volunteer to help review documents, complete federal tax forms, get a better understanding of what is owed, or ideally get the largest refund possible.
